About John Kroll

DETERMINED TO MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE FOR WAUSAU AND MARATHON COUNTY

I'm Running for Assembly District 85 to Serve You

I’m John Kroll and I was born in and raised in Necedah, WI population 900. Now, my wife and I are raising our two daughters in Wausau. We love Wausau and Marathon County, but everyday costs – childcare, property taxes, utility bills – are through the roof and families can’t keep up. Meanwhile big corporations make record profits.

I’m running for Assembly because we need to make state government work for us, not the super-rich. Rising costs are hurting families. Things like childcare are inaccessible and too costly for so many, something my wife and I have experienced firsthand. In the legislature, I’ll work to bring down costs, create good-paying jobs, make health care more affordable, get big money out of our politics, and protect Wisconsin’s drinking water and natural beauty for our kids.

Growing up, my dad was a union mechanic and my mom worked as an office secretary. I learned the value of hard work by working weekends at my grandparents’ pizza place (I bet I've made over 100,000 pizzas in my life). Higher education was out of the question until I found a way to work and go to school. I studied energy efficiency at Western Technical College and now, I work to make homes across Wisconsin more affordable and comfortable. I help families bring down their rising utility bills.

Technical college degrees like mine are an important part of our state’s future workforce. Our younger families need more options to make a good living without a four-year college degree. I still volunteer as an advisor at Western Technical College, helping create more job training opportunities in the building trades and energy efficiency.

I’m also a Marathon County Board Supervisor where I’m fighting for clean water so our families can safely drink our well water and safely play in our streams and lakes. On the board, I voted to CUT taxes and voted NO on a measure to increase board member’s salaries.

Meanwhile in Madison, Pat Snyder is part of the problem. He’s siding with big corporations and billionaires and leaving hard working Wisconsinites behind.

This year, we have an opportunity to bring Wisconsin values back to the state legislature, so we can make health care more affordable, bring down costs for working families, and provide the best education opportunities for our kids. That’s why I’m running for the Assembly.
